Milagu Kashayam for cold | Black Pepper Corn Brew to cure common cold

Kashayam is a tamil word used for a liquid prepared for medicinal uses. There are various types of kashayam used in Tamilnadu for various ailments. Milagu (black pepper) is one of the miracle ingredient in curing cold andcough. Milagu kashayam can be prepared at home. The method of preparation of milagu kashayam is given below.

  1. Add a cup of water in a thick bottomed pan.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of freshly grounded pepper powder, 1/2 teaspoon of freshly grounded coriander(Dhaniya) and 1/2 a teaspoon of cumin powder(jeeragam), add 1 teaspoon of grounded panankalkandu.
  3. Boil this mixture until the water reduces to half.
  4. Switch off the stove.
  5. Filter and drink.
This kashyam if taken twice daily will soothe the throat and relieves from cold and cough.
