Ingredients for tooth powder - Sukku, Milagu, Thippili

Take about 30 grams of each ingredient given below
  • Dry ginger (Sukku in Tamil)
  • Black Pepper Corn(Milagu in Tamil)
  • Long Pepper (Thippili in Tamil)
  • Aelarisi in Tamil
  • Cinnamon (Lavanga Pattai in Tamil)
  • Cassia cinnamon (Lavanga pathiri in Tamil)
  • Himalayan salt (Induppu)
  • Cubeb (Vaal Milagu)

How to make tooth powder?

  • Mix all the ingredients and grind into fine powder.
  • Sieve the powder using a cotton cloth.
  • Homemade tooth powder is ready to use.

How to Use Tooth Powder

Either tooth brush or finger can be used for cleaning our teeth. It is also better to use the neem twig if available. Take half or full teaspoon of the tooth powder,  wet your tooth brush and touch the powder with the brush and startbrushing your teeth. This powder can be directly used for brushing the teeth. Some people also add some gingelly oil(nallennai) or coconut oil(thengai ennai) with a teaspoon of this tooth powder and use it to brush the teeth.
